Who are we?

Faith Reformed Baptist Church of Walkerville, MD was founded in September of 2004. The founding families had a great desire to have a Reformed Baptist church in Frederick County. So after several meetings an interim board of officers was elected to begin the process of establishing a new church and Faith Reformed Baptist was born.

Faith Reformed Baptist Church is a new and unique church in Frederick County. Like many other churches we seek to glorify God in our worship services, ministries, and daily lives. We labor to build up the saints of God through the public teaching of His word and to evangelize the lost through both our corporate church endeavors and our personal lives. However we are unique in that we see God, His holiness, sovereignty, power, glory, and other attributes central to all that we do. Our worship services and ministries are purposefully arranged and constructed so that God, and God alone is glorified. We hold to the historic expressions of the Christian Faith that came out of the Protestant Reformation:

Soli Deo Gloria – God alone is to be glorified
Solus Christus – Man is saved only through Jesus Christ
Sola Gratia – Salvation is an act of God’s free grace alone
Sola Fide – Salvation is through faith alone, not by any works of our own.
Sola Scriptura – God’s word is the only rule and guide for man’s life.

With these as our guides, you will notice that we are unique. Our services are focused upon the word of God with a sufficient amount of time being dedicated to the sermon. We sing hymns of the faith, songs that are intended to both instruct and encourage the saints through public singing of the mercy and grace of God. We encourage families to worship together so that children witness first hand the devotion and seriousness with which their own parents and other Christians worship God. And then we go forward in our daily lives to glorify God through our whole-hearted obedience to His word.

Our desire is do all of this in a format that is friendly, inviting, and encouraging to all that attend. So come be a part of Faith Reformed Baptist Church.

Thus we desire to give unto Christ that which is His, and unto all lawful Authorities that which is their due, and to owe nothing to any man but love, to live quietly and peaceably, as it becomes christians, endeavoring in all things to keep a good conscience, and to do unto every man as we would have them do unto us, that as our practice is, so it may prove us to be a conscionable, quiet, and harmless people, and to labor and work with our hands, that we may not be chargeable to any, but to give to him that needs both friends and enemies, accounting it more excellent to give than to receive, that we might live to the Praise, Honor, and the Glory of our Heavenly Father, in Christ Jesus alone, through the assistance of the Holy Spirit. - London Baptist Confession of 1644
